Italy's Giro d'Italia celebrates its centenary year in 2017, it is currently underway and next 24 and 25 May it will head to Canazei and Moena (Trentino region). Both legs of the notorious multi-day road race will bring cyclists among the outstanding Dolomites and, needless to say, any single mile will be perfectly set. Some of the same streets touched by the 2017 Giro will host the 11th Marcialonga Cycling Craft on 4 June where participants will as usual pick one of the two 80k or 135k courses (start and finish in Predazzo town centre).
Marcialonga calls everyone to order and to...cycle. People from Australia, Brasil, the US, Ireland, Singapore and New Zealand registered to the event.
As it happened in past years (and even more this time!), the Marcialonga OC planned different side events starting on Friday 2 June with a Fixed Gear Event that will kick off at 5PM in Predazzo town centre. Entries are still open and cost € 15 including a sleeveless t-shirt and a backpack by Craft Sportswear. The total distance of the event is 30k for men and 25k for women, while the length of the lap is 1,000 meters. On the same day, the main road in Val di Fiemme will be traffic free and several side events such as food and wine tasting, music shows and concerts are scheduled all along the way from Cavalese to Predazzo. Everyone is more than welcome to join the day on foot or riding their bycicles.
On Saturday (3.30PM), kids of different ages will jump on their saddles at the MTB MiniCycling event that will be followed by an aperitif in Predazzo with live music by the Majazztic for all participants, families and guests. The Expo and many more activities on Sunday will be the icing on the cake of this year's Marcialonga Cycling Craft.
Last summer, a terrible earthquake hit central Italy and the Association “Io non Crollo” from Camerino – a small town in central Italy – will take part into the Marcialonga event next 4 June and will sell local products and gadgets in Predazzo town centre.
Entries to the 11th Marcialonga Cycling Craft are open until 2 June – fee: € 40.
