WHY RUNNING? WHY RUNNING A RACE?

It may be tough to get up and go for a run. But most of the time, you’ll be more pleased and satisfied with yourself if you get up and do it.
It is easy to come up with excuses to avoid something, but the key is to counter those excuses with reasons to just do it.
Often, motivation follows action. So get yourself together and get moving. You’ll feel better after running, and you’ll be happy you stuck to your routine.

Set a goal

Set a real goal, not too ambitious. 
Enter a race for example. If you are a runner and you are used to run a certain distance, choose a longer distance or set a time. If you are not a runner choose an esasy distance, for example 10km. 
Break your intentions into smaller steps: that helps you to reach your final goal. This can include the amount of time you put in per week, how fast you run a certain distance, or the number of days you run.

Think about yourself

Running is wellness. Running burns calories, reduces belly fat, and helps you make healthy food choices. Sport is helpful evenf for mental well-being, it reduces depression and anxiety and give positive feelings. 
You may experience feelings of positivity as running improves your mood and makes you feel better by releasing endorphins, one of the happiness hormones.
You need time for yourself: love yourself and take care about your body and your mind. 

Sharing and Fun

Find a friend or a group of people to run with in order to keep up the pace, to have fun, tho share the effort, to have company. 
Even if you don’t run together each day, you can band together a few times a week for accountability or you can share your activity and your feelings with social network or the sport apps: it is very useful to inspire and to get inspiration. 

Commitment and perseverance

Set up a running schedule, it is very useful for the motivation. A schedule allows you to prepare the weekly workouts and to train with quality, avoiding overtraing, respecting breaks, listening to your body.
A running schedule includes also gym excercises and training will be less boring and more efficient. 
Let a running trainer helps you or follow a certified program. The training that Giulia offers you is suitable for everybody but she says: every runner is different, everyone has his own rhythm, his own athletic preparation, and characteristics. The programs are guidelines suitable for men and women. For a more specific preparation is needed to ask for a personal program based on personal characteristics and goals. 

An extra motivation: charity

The relay by Marcialonga Coop is thinking even more about charity as for registrations will go directly through No Profit organisations, that will use the entry fee to support their projects.
