theme of the week: RUNNING ALONE OR WITH A GROUP?
Which are the advantages of running alone or with someone?
Usually those who prefer to run alone know their race rhythm, follow a training schedule or track the progress of their performance. Running alone allows to focus on yourself, on the running technique, on breathing, on the feelings you are experiencing. Often the runner is lonely by necessity, because he is used to decide at the last moment to go out for a run or because the time available for training varies according to the daily schedules.
Running alone can be very efficient but this type of training depends on your personality.
The run without a mate could be boring and this could lead to low motivation and therefore to give up.
If this happens, before giving up it is better to find a running mate or a running group.
Running with company strengthens the motivational drive: to encourage each other, to help each other but above all to have fun. Doing sport activities while having fun helps to be more constant in training avoiding the classic excuses to postpone the run.
Having company allows you to feel less fatigue and time goes faster; moreover, if the running partner is more experienced, he can give useful advice.
The sharing of sensations in real time allows you to resolve any doubts about the training method or about physical or technical problems.
Another important aspect is the variety. Different runners know different routes: you try new tracks avoiding once again getting bored.
If you run alone or with company not to lose sight of the objectives that go beyond the performace: wellbeing and fun.
