Marcialonga is not only cross country skiing!
12^ MARCIALONGA CRAFT
Two courses: 80 km with an elevation gain of 1892 m.or 135km with an elevation gain of 3279m. You can choose your distance during the competition and both will take you through magic places...
The start of the Marcialonga Craft is in Predazzo, the most populated village of Val di Fiemme, known to be the “Geological garden of the Alps” thanks to the highest concentration of geological varieties in the world. Tackling one by one all the hubs of the Val di Fiemme, vibrant landscapes escort the participants to the South Tyrol area, with the descent that will bring them in front of the first challenge of the course: the Monte San Pietro uphill, a sprinkle of pure typical life and an enchanting panoramic view of the Dolomites.
A fascinating descent projects the participants right toward the ascent of Passo Lavazé, one of the clue points of the event. The amazing Dolomiti of Latemar are the background and the legend says that these mountains are fossilized puppets. From here the course continues to Tesero and then back to Predazzo, where the racers could decide whether to continue completing all 135 kilometers of the "long" course or stop at the "medium" one of 80 kilometers.
The Granfondo route passes through Moena, in Val di Fassa, known like “the fair of Dolomites”, incorporating completely its charm and splendor. The race goes up to the San Pellegrino Pass, theater of epic battles at Giro d’Italia and one of the favorite place for the pro cyclists in preparation of the important Tours. The Valles Pass with the majestic presence of the Pale di San Martino engages once again the racers before reaching, after a myriad of joy and hard ride, the finish in Predazzo.
Craft Sportswear is the main sponsor of the event and guarantees a special prize for all the participants: you will receive a hoodie as a gift.
16^ MARCIALONGA COOP
The challenge starts in the heart of Moena in Val di Fassa, a village crowned by the dolomitic groups of the Catinaccio, the Monzoni and the Latemar mountains, then it passes to the nearby valley, projecting the competitors to the villages of Val di Fiemme. The landscape changes step by step, and the course glides along dense forests of larch and fir trees, which soon leave space to the magnificent views and to the green pastures at the foot of the Lagorai mountains. Then it crosses Predazzo, Ziano, Panchià, Lago di Tesero and Masi di Cavalese, along the cycle path that extends near the river Avisio, continuing downhill until the ultimate thrill that completes the 26 spectacular kilometers up to Cavalese.
The route is almost entirely on asphalted ground, with the exception of a section of about one kilometer high at Ziano di Fiemme towards Panchià, before crossing the fascinating Old Bridge, and another one and a half kilometers Climbs to the finish line, along the old railroad, passing through the tunnel, where the train rails once went.
You can choose to run the entire course or only a segment, in a relay with other two friends.
