Ski Classics
Ski Classics is a cross country ski TV-series combining the 6 most classical and prestigious long distance skiing events in the world. The combination of elite and amateur skiers is unique for the Ski Classics events and the races are elite competitions combined with great folk festivals for the different regions. All 6 events utilize the classic skiing technique and are at least 50km long. The new TV-broadcasted ski championship is a pioneer project that has been worked on for over two years. It is the result of a cooperation between representatives of the included ski events and participating elite skiers with the common goal to enhance the world of cross country skiing.
The long distance events still symbolize the strong traditions and classical setting that cross country skiing used to be all about, from a combined mass start where several thousand of skiers break the start together to the drama of head to head between skiers as the finish line approaches. Ski Classics adds additional excitement by introducing 4 different competitions.
