For three years, since forming the partnership between Marcialonga Italy and Norway the first edition of Marcialonga Arctic Skirace is now coming to fruition, on March 9th 2024.
Taking place over a 42-kilometer trail, the race starts at the City Hall, winds through the enchanting Bodø forest, ascends to a panoramic viewpoint of the city, and returns to the bustling city center. The course features a total elevation of 750 meters, providing a challenging yet fair experience. It is designed to be accessible for everyone, from casual enthusiasts to elite athletes, ensuring that the latter face a tough but thrilling competition.
Our "Compact Games" concept emphasizes short distances between crucial locations. This makes it incredibly convenient for participants and spectators, as all hotels are just a short walk from the start and finish area. This easy access ensures that you can effortlessly enjoy the evening festivities after the race.
Marcialonga Arctic Ski Race will be a unique and unforgettable experience in the beautiful city of Bodø, Norway, as we explore its stunning nature, culture, and local heroes. We will showcase the majestic Northern Lights, wildlife, Bodø's vibrant music and cultural scene, Saltstraumen, Lofoten, and much more of what Bodø and its surrounding areas have to offer.This event will truly be a festival for everyone, featuring the world's largest traditional Sami tent (lavvo), a grand stage, an abundance of music and entertainment, and culinary experiences.
