The Marcialonga registration time has finally come. Cross country skiing lovers are all called to get on www.marcialonga.it and seize a bib for the 2015 event scheduled on 25 January.
Entries for Italy’s most popular ski-marathon will officially open tomorrow at 3pm and the only way to register will be through the Registration Area inside Marcialonga website (www.marcialonga.it) with mandatory payment via credit card. Once the card is authorised and the transaction completed, the registration will be valid.
Around 7000 skiers from each corner of the planet joined last season’s Marcialonga and the first to cross the 70k finish line was Simen Østensen of Norway ahead his countrymen John Kristian Dahl and Jørgen Aukland. On the women’s side, Russian Tikhonova left back superfavorite Seraina Boner (SUI) while Sweden’s Loefstroem came in third.
Next January’s Marcialonga will be at the start for the 42nd time in history and further events are scheduled, as the ‘Marcialonga Stars’ charity event, the ‘Minimarcialonga’ and ‘Marcialonga Young’ races for kids and young skiers, plus the Marcialonga Story vintage event.
Marcialonga is part of the FIS Marathon Cup and Ski Classics series 2015.
Last Sunday the 8th Marcialonga Cycling Craft road race was hosted through the Italian Dolomites and over 2200 cyclists from all over the world showed up at the start in Predazzo. Next September the Marcialonga Running event will also roll down the streets of Val di Fiemme and Val di Fassa, while the clock keeps ticking to the ski-marathon. You better not waste any time, get on the web tomorrow and grab a bib!
