One of the world's most renowned and beloved ski-marathons will get on track next 28 January in Italy's Trentino area, and once again snow lovers won't be disappointed.
The 22 km-long XC skiing event in CT named Lavazeloppet will open up the so-called Marcialonga Week on Thursday 25 January, at 9.30 AM at Lavazè Pass.
On Friday 26, little kids up to 6 years of age will enjoy the Marcialonga Baby event in Predazzo town center, starting from 4.00 PM. Same day in Molina di Fiemme from 6.00 PM the SciVolando event will once again entertain guests and XC skiing passionates with a celebration of Marcialonga history: 45 years of successes. Special guest of this event will be Maurilio De Zolt.
The vintage promo event Marcialonga Story will wear boots and old skis on Saturday 27 January along the 11 km-long track that goes from the XC Stadium located in Lago di Tesero up to Predazzo town center.
A charity event (Marcialonga Stars) and the 3 km-long Minimarcialonga CT race for kids (6-12 years) will follow inside the XC Stadium, starting from 1.00 PM. The last competition of the day will be the Marcialonga Young that will be split in two with a second race scheduled on Sunday at 8.45 AM (Ragazzi, Allievi, Aspiranti and Juniores categories).
The 45th Marcialonga di Fiemme e Fassa ski-marathon, one of this season's Visma Ski Classics events, will kick off in Moena at 7.50 AM on Sunday 28 January. Women first and men ten minutes after. The Light version will end in Predazzo after 45 km and about two hours of racing. The 70 km race, instead, will close in Cavalese as tradition goes, where fireworks will celebrate even the very last participant as he or she was the winner!
Thanks to the recent snowfalls, over 35 km of Marcialonga tracks are already set.
