MARCIALONGA STORY VILLAGE

The next edition of Marcialonga will be introduced by an exciting news: in Cavalese, in the days before the event, you can feel like being back in the 70s. At the Palafiemme, in fact, there will be a real historical village, the Marcialonga Story Village. The chance for nostalgic people and people interested about skiing to discover more about this world in the past. There will be also an exposition of Nyson skis, produced by Giacomo Bononsegna and his brothers in the 70s-80s in Trentino and collections about Marcialonga: medals, pins, posters, bibs and postmarks.

At the Story Village there will be also the possibility to rent the equipment for Marcialonga Story whereas those who have their own equipment can register it on the vintage Ski Register- the precious collection of original equipment certified by experts. 

The story of the Story

Seven years have already passed since the first edition of Marcialonga Story took place, when the organizing committee arranged for the first time this cross-country skiing revival event to celebrate the 40^th edition of Marcialonga. The success was immediate: still now Marcialonga Story is an event that people who took part in the first editions in the 70’s cannot miss. At the same time, those who are passionate about old-times-skis or young people are curious about the feeling of skiing with past equipment and clothes. 

Skis, boots and poles have to be made before 1976. There will be a check and evaluation of equipment and clothes, which must coincide to the right time.
An event where a real crowd is waiting for the competitors at the finish as Marcialonga Story is not only a thrilling event for competitors but also for spectators who are fascinated by this unique sport parade. You will be thrown back in time: vintage setting up and refreshment points made as they were organized in the past.
