Today the Press Conference at the Mercure Hotel in Jelenia Gora, Poland

At the Mercure Hotel in Jelenia Gora, today there was the press conference presenting the ski marathons Marcialonga and Bieg Piastow and the twining between the two races and the so the relation between Trentino and Poland. At the conference, there were the major of Jelenia Gora, Jerzy Luzniak, to whom the President Corradini gave the special bib created for the Polish athletes during the next Edition of Marcialonga, the Presidente of Bieg Piastoiw, Maciej Pawlowski, the director of Bieg Piastow Kaja Sznajdrowicz-Krecichwost, the General Secretary Davide Stoffie and Anna Crosignani, Communication Manager of Worldloppet.
Andrzej Stolecki – aambassador of Val di Fiemme in the World, was the interpreter of the conference, presented by Leszek Kosiorowski, press manager of Bieg Piastow, who also came to Tesero for the election of Soreghina 2020. The athletes present were Michal Skowron, skier of the Polish national Team and winner of the 25 k 2018 Bieg Piastow and Dorota Dziadkowiec-Michon, 3-times-winner of the FIS Worldloppet Cup (90-91-92) and very connected to Marcialonga, where she also participated to the historic “Skirollonga”, conquering the podium. Also present Bruno Debertolis, manager of the Team Robinson Trentino, the Visma Ski Classic Team for which Justyna Kowalczyk runs: they are training hard for the coming ski season, telling also the importance of having an athlete like Justyna in the team to motivate the youngest skiers.
During the meeting, a big news for Polish skiers was revealed: Davide Stoffie announced that “From Monday 4th November there will be 100 extra bibs for Polish skiers. In June Marcialonga reached the incredible amount of 250.000 registrations in the history of Marcialonga, and it is a Polish woman that registered as 250.000th!”. Angelo Corradini invited the Polish delegation to Marcialonga, before the trip of the Marcialonga delegation to the Polish race. The major Luzniak, after receiving the bib from Corradini, was invited to take part to Marcialonga or, in alternative, to shoot the start of the 47th Edition, if he would not be ready for skis. An invitation that was also made to the Marcialonga President, invited to launch the 2020 Bieg Piastow. The President Pawlowski could not hide his satisfaction: “I recognize the importance of Val di Fiemme and Val di Fassa, lots of Polish people travel to that region to enjoy the beauty of the territory”. All in all, this union is the result of a long relationship, started when Corradini first travelled to Poland first in 1990 and in 2008 – to include the best race of Poland to the Worldloppet circuit, of with Marcialonga was one of the founders. They share a common vision and the sport unites once again people and cultures, being a big example of values.
