Drawings, thoughts and smiles that enrich Marcialonga

Marcialonga is strongly bounded to Val di Fiemme e Val di Fassa: it is something you breath since childhood. The love for Marcialonga is passed down from the families but also from schools in Fiemme and Fassa that every year cooperate in different projects to sensitise the youngster about volunteering and sport. Amongst these there are snow days, meetings with past and present champions, Minimarcialonga in the school-halls, letters to the participants, drawings to decorate the race office and discovering the athletes in Cavalese... Kindergartens and primary schools of the two valleys are always enthusiastic to take part in this project, coming up every year with new ideas and concepts.

 

 

 

HIGH SCHOOLS
Teenager learn and teach

At the race office in Cavalese Marcialonga has special workers: it is the students of the High Schools participating to a school-working project.
From bibs distribution, to Info point and Story Village, the guys have to interact with participants, speaking foreign languages. This contributes make them responsible and aware of their role within a big event.  A new project has been activated for Minimarcialonga: this nice initiative has as a theme “my favourite volunteer”. The goal is to help the kids understanding their role and the values behind volunteering. How to do that? The high school students will teach to the children the role of Marcialonga volunteers, through a role play. At the end of the activity, the kids themselves turning into real volunteers for one day, with the hope that they will be volunteers in the future as well.
