Marcialonga 32km Just for Fun

Not everyone dreams of winning the Marcialonga. But many dream of taking part in it.

It is from this idea that the Marcialonga 32 km Just For Fun was born – a new initiative designed to make the Marcialonga experience even more accessible and open the event’s doors to those trying cross-country skiing for the first time, those who do not yet wish to tackle the distances of the traditional race, or, quite simply, those who wish to soak up the atmosphere of the Marcialonga without the pressure of competition.

WHEN IT TAKES PLACE

The new race is scheduled for 31 January 2027, starting at 11.00.

ROUTE

The race will start in Moena and finish in Cavalese, covering a distance of approximately 32 kilometres. This is the same starting point from which, just a few hours earlier, the competitors in the 70 km and 45 km races will set off, transforming it once again into a place of gathering and celebration.

After the start, the route will join the opposite side of the course directly, heading towards the Val di Fiemme.

To merge safely, there will be an ‘acceleration lane’ to allow participants to adjust their speed to match that of competitors already on the course and give them way.

The ‘Just For Fun’ participants will, both figuratively and literally, cross paths with the other skiers that already crossed the Val di Fassa and are heading towards the finish lines in Predazzo and Cavalese.

JUST FOR FUN

Different courses, different paces, but the same route and the same Marcialonga thrill – without the pressure or official rankings, but with timing.
There will therefore be no overall or category rankings, but times will be recorded.

The 32-kilometre route will take participants through some of the event’s most iconic locations, including the two Olympic stadiums in Val di Fiemme and the traditional climb up to Cascata, before the finish in Cavalese. A route to tackle at your own pace, letting yourself be captivated by the scenery, the crowds and the atmosphere that characterises every edition.

AN ADDITIONAL EVENT THAT DOES NOT REPLACE THE OTHERS

The Just For Fun runs alongside the 70 km Marcialonga and the 45 km Marcialonga Light. The 70 km remains the heart and symbol of the event, whilst the Light offers an alternative distance for those wishing to experience the Marcialonga at a different level of commitment.
The new 32 km route adds another option and, above all, a new gateway into the world of the Marcialonga.
