3500 ENTRIES AND OVER 6 MONTHS TO GO

Marcialonga: something like a real phenomenon. During the summer, people usually think about going to the beach or lying in the sun. However, the Marcialonga followers have the Italian long distance cross country ski race engraved on their minds and hearts.
The 2011 ski-marathon through the Fiemme and Fassa valleys in Trentino region is scheduled for January 30th, but already 3500 skiers have submitted their entries. Last year the registration desk stopped accepting entry forms three months before the scheduled date. It might happen again this year too, if entries keep pouring in at the same rate they did so far. Keeping in mind that the entry limit for the 2011 race has been set at 6.500 units.
Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Estonia, Canada and Italy are only some of the 26 registered nations for the 2011 Marcialonga, which is part of both the prestigious Worldloppet circuit and the FIS Marathon Cup (since 2000).
Along with 2011 Marcialonga Cycling (May) and Marcialonga Running (September), next year’s Marcialonga forms the Combined Event ‘Punto3 Craft’.
As usual the ski-marathon will be on the two courses of 70 Km (starting from Moena and finishing in Cavalese ) and 45 Km (the Marcialonga Light from Moena to Predazzo).
