COMBINING WORK AND SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

Combining work and school activities: this is what the ‘Istituto Tecnico per il Turismo’ of Predazzo (part of the ‘Istituto la Rosa Bianca’) is aiming at. That means not only school work is being done by students, but even full-immersions in Fiemme valley’s economic field, especially when it comes to tourism and great events. A first attempt was made in 2013, where students of the third class had actively cooperated in different sectors with the organizers. Two classes, that is the third and the fourth class, are getting ready for the 2014’s Edition: they’re willing to work together with the organizers of the event. They will support the race office by helping with the bib’s distribution and by providing useful information to athletes, fans and companions. Last but not least, this year some girls will be in the ‘hostess’ group. A very challenging job because they will deal with people from other countries and practice their language skills in a real life situation. Who knows, maybe one day this will turn into a job opportunity. To conclude this project will make the bond that Marcialonga and the local area have always shared even more stronger.

Eines des Ziele dieses Institutes “ La Rosa Bianca- Predazzo “ ist es, die schulische Tätigkeit mit der Arbeitswelt zusammenzuführen. Also nicht nur Schule, sondern auch eintauchen in die wirtschaftliche Realität  des Fleimstales, mit Hilfe von Praktia im Bereich des Fremdenverkehrs, bezogen auf sportliche Groβereignisse. Ein erster Schritt wurde 2013, anlässlich der „ Marcialonga“ mit der Klasse 3C Indirizzo Turistico gemacht. Für dieselbe Veranstaltung  2014 haben sich die Klassen 3C und 4C zur Zusammenarbeit mit den Organisatoren zur Verfügung gestellt. Ihre Aufgabe beschränkt sich in erster Linie auf das Rennbüro: Mithilfe bei der Verteilung der Startnummern und Weitergabe von wichtigen Informationen, sowohl an die Athleten als auch an die Zuschauer. Einige Schülerinnen werden als „Hostess“ arbeiten. Sie haben dabei die Möglichkeit mit Ausländern zuarbeiten und ihre Sprachkenntnisse gezielt einzusetzen.

Die Zusammenarbeit sollte auch die Verbindung Marcialonga-Fleimstal stärken und unter den Jugendlichen fördern.
