Wood skis with bindings of 75 mm, leather shoes, wood poles and also wool socks and gloves as well as a warm hat. To complete the outfit, knickerbockers and a heavy jumper, over which to wear the cotton bib. This is the typical equipment of the skiers in the 70’s. Who lived that moments, as the Senators who were at the start of Marcialonga since its first edition, remind the fatigue of skiing with those materials, the beauty of the classic style, the effort and the joy to practice this fascinating discipline.
The Marcialonga Story is the perfect occasion to discover the cross-country ski of those years, skiing along the 11 km of the course with the original materials.
As it is not easy to find the necessary equipment, the Marcialonga provides a new renting service, based on availability, for those skiers who need it. The booking of old skis, shoes or poles is upon request to [email protected]
The rent costs 30€ + 20€ as a deposit that will be returned when you bring the material back.
You can rent the equipment also on Friday January 27th in the main square of Predazzo, in connection with a special exposition of old skis.
To celebrate the fifth birthday of the Story event, Marcialonga will give to all the participants a beautiful and warm wool hat, inspired by the fashion of the seventies, the badge for the validation stamp along the course, the old-style cotton bib provided by Pastificio Felicetti and a stick wax by Rode.
So there are no more excuses: sign up now for the 5. Marcialonga Story.
